Amira Desktop Research Suite
The Vision
Amira is a specialized desktop environment designed to eliminate “tab exhaustion.” It provides a unified workspace where researchers and students can collect, organize, and view their sources without the constant friction of switching between browser windows and note-taking apps.

Login & Sign-Up Pages
The onboarding experience is designed to be calm and inviting. By utilizing a soft, flower wallpaper sidebar and minimal input fields, the login and sign-up process feels lightweight. The UI uses clear active states to distinguish between ‘Login’ and ‘Sign Up’ modes, ensuring the user can enter their workspace with zero confusion.
Dashboard Pages
The central hub for all research activity. The dashboard organizes work into color-coded project cards, allowing users to differentiate between subjects like ‘Space Exploration’ or ‘Climate Change’ at a glance. I’ve included an ‘Add New’ feature for both personal and shared projects, making it easy to scale from a single task to a full semester of work.
Menu & Navigation
The sliding side-menu maintains the clean aesthetic of the app while providing quick access to Profile, Settings, and Pro-Plan features. By keeping the navigation hidden when not in use, I’ve maximized the available real estate for research content, ensuring the user remains focused on their primary goals.
In-App Research Pages
This is where the ‘tab exhaustion’ problem is solved. The in-app workspace allows users to view live research (like Google or ChatGPT) side-by-side with their notes. I designed a multi-window layout that eliminates the need for copying and pasting across different applications, allowing for a continuous, uninterrupted flow of information.

Collaboration Pages
Amira isn’t just for solo study. The Collaboration pages show who is active on a project with real-time contributor icons. The layout allows team members to see each other’s research notes and titles, creating a shared brain for group projects and academic papers.
Project Conclusion
Amira transforms the messy process of online studying into a structured, desktop-native experience. By integrating browser capabilities directly into a project-focused UI, it reduces cognitive load and helps users focus on learning rather than managing windows.
